This time it will be different.

This time it will be different. I have said this to many times to believe it. Expecting change without adding something new to the mix? Impossible. This is a loop, like living your version of the movie Groundhog Day. So what is the answer then to really change something your essential self is yearning for? First and foremost we must offer kindness to ourselves, especially the parts we aren't satisfied with or even feel we may hate. Sounds counterintuitive, but the meanness and angry words we scream inwardly are about as effective as teaching your dog to speak Japanese. Rover may eventually make a sound or two resembling domo arigato to make your efforts seem worthwhile, but he won't ever sit in a Japanese tea house spinning tales of his former life sniffing dogs, sneaking kitty treats and rolling in that dead ??? whatever that was. On the other hand, if we teach Rover to sit, stay, come, play dead, success is just around the corner. We can choose from millions of techniques to teach him and he will eventually change. We become that extra piece for Rover, the something new to the mix. Rover won't learn spontaneously no matter how much we pray, hope, dream, use The Secret, intention, the list goes on. Same for me, for you, all of us. What is the new stimulus you will add in? Maybe start by listening to yourself without judgement, offer kindness to your body, your mind, your spirit. Why not? At least its something different, and just so happens, works wonders.
